Vinted Users Voice Displeasure About Sizing Changes

Members of the platform have expressed outrage following a change that caused listings displaying inaccurate size information.

The popular resale platform has revised its sizing categories for women's and children's garments failing to inform every member regarding the update.

Social Media Response

Countless users and merchants have taken to social media claiming that product pages now present a different size category compared to what was initially listed as a result of the reclassification.

The platform stated the new system was more in line with other platforms.

It has advised users to examine their items and manually change the size where appropriate, resulting in member annoyance.

Size Classification Modifications

Previously, the sizes had both numerical and alphabetical indicators, for instance S/8 or M/10.

The updated approach includes a letter with a size spectrum for example S/UK 8-10.

In some cases, the size labels have been reassigned - for example a size L used to be a 12 but now shows as UK 16-18.

Member Accounts

Frankie Bridger, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder".

"Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," which is what Vinted now does.

A different member, based in Glasgow, explained products she uploaded on Vinted with size 14 labels were appearing on the platform as larger sizing 20-22.

"If buyers measuring 20-22 acquire them they will likely be quite upset," she stated.

Necessary Adjustments

Another shopper, located in England, stated she felt frustrated because the modification necessitated personal updates the sizes on "every single listing".

"For me this is particularly frustrating, since I have chronic health issues and selling on Vinted has been paramount after experiencing income reduction," she explained.

Service Background

The service features exceeding 100 million shoppers, comprising 18 million UK members.

It has become a favored option to second-hand platforms like eBay and Depop.

This isn't the first time when a surprising modification within the service has received backlash: last year, the service retracted a modification to its shipping options after backlash from users.
